Choosing A Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water System
All reverse osmosis units give similar water quality when they’re brand new. As they age however, the main filter, the membrane will start to become plugged up with contaminants. It will then remove fewer and fewer contaminants from the water, so your water quality drops off. On very “cheap” reverse osmosis units, this can happen in less than a year. On better, more expensive systems, this drop off can take over ten years to occur. The more frequent the membrane changes, the more expense you incur over time.
